What to expect
I work from a comfortable, private room within a clinic in Frome. It has a reception area and ample parking.
Our first meeting will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to think together about how I may be able to help and support you. In our initial meeting I may take notes and I will talk through the services I offer and how I work.
Starting counselling and therapy can be a daunting prospect and I understand that it can be hard to make that first step. I will help you think about the support you may need.
Counselling can offer a neutral space away from the pressures of daily life where you can speak without fear of judgement and understand yourself better.
I work with a wide range of issues: Depression, anxiety, self harm, eating disorders, bereavement, illness, relationship problems, parenting, post natal depression, sexual problems, sexuality, life changes, menopause, affairs, mental health conditions, fears, trauma, abuse, family issues, redundancy, work stress, panic attacks, feeling stuck in life.
I have a flexible approach so that I work individually with each client so together we can find the best way of supporting you.
For some people a set number of sessions is helpful and we can discuss this when we start work together.
I also offer long term open ended therapy where we can work at a much deeper level and you can really begin to understand yourself better.
Children and Young People
I work with children of all ages and use age appropriate play, art and toys to support the young person to explore their feelings.
I can work with a wide range of issues including exam stress, self harming, bullying, family problems, sexuality, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, school issues, fears, sleep problems, friendship issues, feeling low.
I have over 20 years experience of working with children of all ages and I offer a neutral and non judgmental space in which they can think about what feels difficult for them in life.
When working with children and young people I also offer parent/ carer sessions. Whilst the child’s counselling remains confidential I work sensitively with parents/ carers and families to think about how best support the child or young person.
I am diligent about keeping up to date with Safeguarding training and I am able to work with other agencies should a child be at risk. I have a full DBS check for working with children.
